The student workflow is the full loop: capture the lecture → keep the transcript on the phone → find a formula or a passage → optionally ask Claire to simplify or quiz you. Claire is not a student-only product, but classes are a first-class use.

Airplane mode, a basement classroom, a building with no Wi‑Fi: transcription still runs on the iPhone while you have started it. You are not uploading the lecture as it happens.
Claire hears through the microphone. It does not ingest a course video file. If the professor is on a projector, the phone keeps what it can hear — like a classmate sitting next to you.

Search “mitochondria” or last Tuesday’s lab. Ask: “Explain this part in simpler words.” “What should I review before the exam?” Those questions need the internet and only send relevant excerpts. You can also just read the transcript yourself.
Erase a session you were not allowed to keep, or that you no longer need. Nothing is sent while transcribing. Star the lectures that must survive a panic cleanup.
